DIY // Upcycled Wooden Pallets

Hi Everybody! You know how much I love to upcycle, recycle and reuse objects… so, I have these two large wooden pallets (they came with my Smeg fridge, pallets are not that easy to get, in Italy!) and I’ve been looking for a way to recycle them. Obviously, Pinterest is the greatest source for DIY ideas and here are the ones I find more interesting:

Sapete quanto io ami riutilizzare, riclicare e dare nuova vita agli oggetti…dunque, ho questi due grandi pallet (accompagnavano il mio frigo Smeg, i pallet, in Italia, non sono così facili da trovare!) e mi sono messa alla ricerca di un modo per riutilizzarli. Ovviamente, Pinterest è la più grande fonte d’ispirazione per quanto riguarda le idee fai-da-te e queste sono quelle che trovo più interessanti.

Focus on color // Emerald Green

Last year it wasTangerine Tango. 2010 was the Turquoise (my favourite one!) year. 2013, this is what Pantone announced, the color of the year is Emerald. I quite like this shade of green, especially in summertime. Maybe I’m the only one in the world, but I usually match colors to the people I know. The Laundry Room

I wish I had a laundry room but, unfortunately, I don’t.  Some of the laundry rooms I see on the web are as big as my entire bedroom (which is a pretty large room!) and all I can do is dream…maybe one day… Ok, let’s stop dreaming and get real: even if all we’ve got is a small room -or a very small corner in the house- this can be easily (and cheaply) well-equipped, practical and good looking at the same time. Idea. I hate those traditional soap’s plastic bottles: they’re ugly and bulky! I funnel liquid soap into clear glass bottles:

Bathroom ideas, anyone?

My new home is still a work in progress…the kitchen has to be completed and so are the bedrooms, the living room and the bathroom! I’m always looking for some inspiration, since I don’t really like traditional furniture for the bathroom (at the moment, the only piece of furniture in my bathroom is a white cupboard by Ikea!) and I can’t find anything interesting around…

I found some nice ideas on Pinterest (where else?!) that I really like:

I could spend hours and hours on Pinterest, so many beautiful and useful ideas on there! By the way, I’m leaving for Canada+USA in a few days, I hope to find something interesting for my house there…of course I won’t be able to purchase a piece of furniture (but never say never!) but I’ll definitely spend a lot of time and money at Home Depot!! Can’t wait!
